(Sigh...) I give you the second -most unlikely car ever to be listed on Craigslist. You happy now, you drittsekk Norwegian?

Their parents buy it for them to tool around campus at 23mph. Especially at engineering schools you get wealthy foreign exchange students, one kid here at Purdue has a Ferrari 458, and another with the $250k Mercedes CL65. I suppose a Murcielago SV isn't too out of the question.

haha... Sorry mate, I just could not help it :) I'm laughing my ass off here, and the drittsekk was so spot on :) HOOOH... But yeah, I see what you mean :)
*catching my breath here*

My guess was Frazer-Nash.

Very unlikely indeed. And pretty. Dem rear fender arches are gorgeous.

I was guessing some type of Ferrari (should have guessed Veyron, DAMMIT), so I wasn't that far off.
Wasn't there another CL post from some rich student trying to sell off a Lambo or something before going back home overseas not that long ago?
Seems to be a trend....

That's nuts. My school isn't as extreme, but there's a fair share of your BMWs and Mercedes..

I'm sure there's a bunch of foreign exchange students who dump their cars for a huge loss before heading overseas. I can't imagine there's a huge market for Italian supercars and the like in college towns. It's just strange to see them listed on a place like CL.

It's not uncommon. I've seen several Gallardos and one MP4-12C for sale on craigslist.
![]() 11/22/2013 at 20:04 |

Because listing it with a dealer would have cost too much money?
![]() 11/22/2013 at 20:07 |

I'm sure it would, but if you have the money for this kind of car you can definitely afford a commission fee. That is, unless you don't want to pay it.

Never would have guessed. I suppose it makes sense when selling a car to post it everywhere a potential buyer might be looking, but still...

Yeah, craigslist isn't the most likely place you'll find somebody willing to buy your exotic car. It can happen though, even if you do get calls and offers that end up wasting your time.
Also, I made a mistake about seeing the MP4-12C for sale, the posting actually said that ever since the owner bought his MP4, he hadn't given any attention to his Quattroporte. That's what he was actually selling. There's quite a lot of cheap exotics and luxury cars to be had on craigslist...

You must have missed this story .
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Same city (Richmond, B.C.), but these kids were in high school, whereas I presume the CL lister is finishing university.

That's crazy!

I can't imagine anyone wanting to try to sell an exotic themselves. Imagine how many people would call saying the were interested just so they could have a chance at driving it. I'd either sell it to a dealer or consign it to a dealer for 10% or whatever it is.

He'll never sell it for that, look at this link for Dupant Registry
2009's are going for 239k-289k. He want's 110k more than the most expensive car currently for sale.
